Being a rockstar is hard.
Regular readers will know about my taste for music, an obsession which started when I was in Kindergarten and my older sister (twelve years older in fact) started dressing me up as Gene Simmons from Kiss. I never did develop Gene Simmons' extraordinary taste for women (cough cough) however I did develop a fascination with Rock n Roll.
Anywho, between 1989 and 1991, when I was roughly twelve old, this was my all time favourite TV show:
Watching the intro now, I can only laugh at how terrible Pugwall's Summer really was. However, back in the day all I wanted in the world was to be Pugwall, minus the beret rocking out in a band. I never really liked the music on the show, it was way too cheesy but I totally loved the concept of a teenage band. Plus, I had a crush on the drummer (what was I thinking?).
I did play in a few bands during high school, I even sang in an awful Metal band called Neglection (I didn't choose the name). Yeah, I lived the dream, playing suburban Battle of the Bands and the occasional school event. But when the sex and drugs took hold the band fell apart, our last record was a flop and suddenly everyone was listening to the Spice Girls.
